Some animal behaviorists claim that a cat's hiss is similar to that of a snake. By mimicking a snake's hiss, a cat attempts to give the enemy the impression that it is also venomous and dangerous. Cats often accompany hissing with spitting, another way in which snakes attack. Those who support this theory also point out that the flattening of a cat's ears makes it look more snakelike.

((...interesting. But I think that cats are the descendents of dragons. So there. That's why they have strange habits. Mwaha.))

I say Dogs, Lizards and Snakes are more dragon like than cats, though it i posibble that cats are a different species of dragon.
Anyways I think thats a bunch of BS especially since i have a snake and a cat...they are alot different

Heh. I didn't say that cats were the ONLY descendents of dragons.
And Cat Nips is pretty much a e-zine made by cat-obsessed peoples. I only get it 'cause it mentions things like what kinds of plants are toxic to cats, so I can remove them from my cats reach. Because my cats like to eat all of my Mom's plants.
