Victoria Ashwoods, a fourteen-year-old half human shapeshifter, was flying through the ancient forest in the form of a phoenix. She was careful to contain her flames; a forest fire was the last thing she needed right now. With eyes as strong as any bird of prey, she searched for it, the tree city of the Raven. The tree-city didn't welcome strangers, but Tori Ashwoods wasn't a stranger; her mother was originally from this strange place. The tree-city was only city on earth that was completely secret from humanity, the only shapeshifter city in existence, and the only city that escaped the invasion. Of course, the term 'city' is used loosely, Tori supposed. How could a city be hidden in a forest?

::: rigun sat in a tree in his hawk form on the outsikirts of the city he saw a phoenix coming and found it intreaging . He took off the limb and flew to a tree that would be in her path and landed on a limb that could hold his human form. Then he shifted into human form and waited for the phoenix to make it into view.:::

Tori saw something that wasn't completely unexpected; a teenager sitting high in the branches of a tree, where no normal being could get to easily. Or, more correctly, no normal human could get to. Easily. So, either she was getting close, she was hallucinating from being so tired, or he was sitting in the middle of nowhere high in a tree for no apparent reason.
As she came closer, she could sense that he was Shifter. Oh. That's good, she thought. Otherwise I'd be slightly confused. Tori landed on the branch next to him, hesitated a moment to get a good look at him, and Shifted back to her 'human' form; red hair, pale skin, and hazel eyes. "Hiya," she said.
((And shifters can shift clothes with them... I forgot to mention that. Because things might get weird if they didn't.))

((Rigun... what's with the ::: thingies? They're pointless...))
"The City, of course. My mom told me about it when I was younger, and I wanted to see if it was all she made it out to be. And to see how it had survived the invasion." Tori shrugged, and gave him a pointed look. "My name is Victoria Ashwoods."
Although Tori did not know it, the Ashwoods family were practically the royalty of shapeshifters... they were closest in bloodlines to the dragons, and their main forms tended to be creatures of myth.

"Oh," Tori looked in the direction he pointed out and for a moment she couldn't find the city it was so well camoflaged, but then she spotted it.... in the trees. Each building was cradled by a massive tree, and everything was connected by a network of rope-bridges. It was designed so it wasn't visible from the ground or from the air above. "That is definately cool."
Belatedly she smiled at him and said, "Nice to meet you."

Victoria replied, "Sure, I don't see why not." She'd prefer to have company in case she ran into family... she didn't know any of them, and according to her mother, they had been terribly pissed off when she had a half-human child.
It wasn't usually a problem with 'Shifters, they were becoming much more laid back than they used to be, but her family was supposed to set an example. But that didn't really matter. Tori felt that they ought to know what happened to her mother. Whether they hated her didn't matter.
