Disclaimer- I don’t own the Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
(Kazul’s grandchild (Daystar’s traveling companion) has finally caught it’s very own princess. There’s only one problem – it’s not a girl.)

Kazul’s grandchild, a very feisty young dragon, has secretly chosen which name and gender it wanted to have, for when it finally got to choose.
It wanted to be a male (no particular reason) and to have the name Lazuk ((yes I know that Lazuk is Kazul spelled backwards)). He just liked the sound of it.
Lazuk was still quite insistent about catching himself a princess, hoping that would prove that he was mature enough to decide. So far, though, he was having very little luck. The only princess he’d found was a flower at the moment, and he had no clue how to turn her back.
“Sorry Princess,” Lazuk grumbled and continued his search.
Some hours later, he thought that there wouldn’t be many princesses in the Enchanted Forest. So, that would be a stupid place to look. So, as he wasn’t stupid, he decided to look outside of the forest.
So, he left (without much difficulty, since he’s a dragon and dragons aren’t usually bothered by the usual Enchanted Forest confusion) and headed toward more populated areas (populated by humans – there’s lot of elves, dwarves, and other nonhuman intelligent beings living all over the Enchanted Forest).
After a while, he saw a large crowd, and he settled down a little ways away from it, so he could search for princesses. He tried to remember what princesses look like. Something about frilly dresses, long hair, and beauty.
Lazuk grinned – there were three on the platform thing in the center of the crowd! He launched himself into the air and grabbed the best looking one with his claws, without even stopping.
The crowd went insane, screaming and running, but he was far beyond them in a few moments.
The flight to his lair was a long one, and very tiring carrying all that extra weight. He let her go as soon as he got there and the princess just lay there with shock.

“Princess? Get up; I’m hungry,” Lazuk told her seriously. “I want chocolate cake and strawberry ice cream.”
The princess scrambled to her feet, staring at the dragon, wide eyed with fear.

Kalynn stared at the dragon in complete disbelief.
Princess?
He looked down at himself, at the dress he wore - and wondered how makeup, a wig, and a dress would fool a dragon that he was a princess. Seriously, even the wool-headed country bumpkins that were watching that play could tell that he was a guy.
Kalynn had run away from home to live the life of freedom that came with the theater. That the life also included poverty, hunger, and a lot of travel didn’t bother him too much.
It was better than marring that vain, bossy, empty-headed princess that his parents had in mind for him (Kalyn just happened to be a prince of a small and boring kingdom, and was the youngest of a large family).
He started laughing, despite the fact that the dragon might get mad and roast him.
This was too funny. Him, a princess? “Ahahahaha,” Kalynn laughed, while the dragon stared in confusion. “Princess…ahahaha!”
